FERNDALE – For 17 years, Ferndale resident David Arnold has been knee-deep in the landscaping industry, managing projects for private homes, apartment complexes, and shopping centers.

This year, Arnold’s hard work as president of Corion Landscape Management was recognized as the company achieved accreditation with the National Association of Landscape Professionals.

“Currently Corion Landscape Management is the first and only Industry Accredited Company in the state of Washington,” said NALP Database Administrator Valerie Shuford.

Standards for becoming a Landscape Industry Accredited Company include demonstrating company-wide knowledge and training, a commitment to safety and ethics, and compliance with local, state, and federal business regulations.

“I’ve enjoyed connecting with the Whatcom County community through landscaping,” Arnold said. “I pursued this accreditation to show our commitment to providing the highest level of service possible in the industry.”

Shuford said that accreditation signifies excellence at the company level.

“It proves to customers, your community, and your employees that you are following best management practices, you have a commitment to quality and ethical work, and you are serious about the safety of your employees and customers,” she said. “Customers can be comforted by the fact that all accredited companies have invested in certifying their employees and have at least one certified manager on their staff,” she said.

Corion Landscape Management maintains commercial properties and provides design-build services for private residences throughout Whatcom County and Skagit County.
