The Whatcom Bed and Breakfast Guild (WBBG) is inviting all local industry members to “renew, refresh, and refocus” at their Annual Meeting and Conference at the Chrysalis Inn.

The Annual Meeting is a chance for Whatcom County small business owners in the hospitality industry to socialize and share tips with their peers. The two-day conference involves networking events, expert speaker sessions, breakout sessions, and time for relaxation. Highlights of the program include:

• A keynote speech by Jay Karen, titled “Finding the Innkeeping Sweet Spot: Where Happiness, Success, and Sanity Meet”
• Speakers from Acorn, Bedandbreakfast.com, and others
• A Vendor Trade Show and Networking event
• The Annual Business Meeting
• Workshops on topics such as e-Commerce, Marketing, and Traveler Trends

There will also be an optional bonus session (for an extra $35 fee) with Acorn Internet entitled “Uncovering the Secrets of a Superior Online Presence.”

The theme of this year’s meeting is finding ways to balance the needs and sanity of the innkeeper with industry standards and the needs of your guests. WBBG encourages all innkeepers to attend, and many of the events will help new B&B owners find ways to establish themselves and improve their visibility and services.

The price of registration is $189 for WBBG members and $239 for non-members. The fee includes workshops, snack breaks, dinner on the first night, and breakfast and lunch during the second day. The fee DOES NOT include lodging, so attendees must arrange to reserve their own rooms. WBBG encourages attendees to reserve at Chrysalis Inn and Spa using the WBBG special rate.
