Are you or your business planning on developing a product or idea with crowdsourcing? Washington state recently passed laws regarding the appropriate use of equity crowdsourcing. Equity crowdsourcing is another term for crowdfunding, which used to be illegal. It’s important to understand the legal background and technicalities associated with approaching the public for ideas and investment. The NW Innovation Resource Center will be hosting an information session to answer your questions about the new laws and get you prepared to crowdsource your own big ideas.
The session will be lead by Faith Anderson, Chief of Regulation and General Council of OFI, Securities Division. Anderson will dicuss the new rules and what they mean for individuals and businesses looking to use equity crowdsourcing.
The session is a great chance for investors and accounting/legal firms to learn where they stand in reference to crowdsourcing, and the best way to collaborate with individuals planning to use crowdsourcing. It will also be a great chance for small business owners, entrepreneurs, and business consultants to learn the legal framework for future crowdsourcing endeavors.
The event will take place on December 3rd, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. It will be held at the Port of Bellingham Harbor Center Room, 1801 Roeder Ave, Bellingham WA, 98225. The event is free for anyone to attend. To learn more, or to register, visit the Eventbrite page.
