Perhaps the biggest boon to entrepreneurs and innovators in the 21st century has been the rise of crowdfunding, and the websites that have come with it. Kickstarter, IndieGogo, and more have been instrumental in bringing great ideas from planning to implementation in the past decade. If you have your own big ideas that you’d like to see come to fruition, crowdfunding should definitely be on your radar, whether or not you have traditional investment.
With these ideas in mind, the BIG Idea Lab is hosting a presentation covering 10 reasons you should be crowdfunding your projects. The presentation will be led by Joel Townsan. Townsan is a local entrepreneur who developed an idea for a transformable electric screwdriver at age 22, and dropped everything to bring his product to market. Through his experience with Kickstarter and plenty of hard work, Joel was able to secure a lucrative licensing deal for his product.
The event will take place November 12th, from 12:00pm to 1:30pm. It will be held at the Big Idea Lab, 114 W Magnolia St #505, Bellingham, 98225. The presentation includes lunch, and is free for BIG Idea Lab members. Non-members must pay $12 at the door. For more information or to register, visit the Eventbrite page.
